24/7 Fitness Center Access Honor Code Policy
24-Hour Access Code of Conduct
At Indiana Tech, we value integrity, responsibility, respect, and accountability. Members granted 24-hour access to our Fitness Center are required to uphold these values and follow the policies outlined in this document. Failure to comply will result in the revocation of 24-hour access and fitness center privileges without refund. Serious violations, such as trespassing, theft, or other criminal behavior, may result in student conduct.
Prohibited Behaviors
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members, the following are strictly prohibited:
- Providing access to unauthorized individuals, including both members without 24-hour privileges and non-members (results in automatic membership termination).
- Use of profanity toward other members or staff.
- Improper use of equipment or failure to follow manufacturer guidelines.
- Wearing open-toed shoes, sandals, or flip-flops.
- Selling products or merchandise on the premises.
- Consuming or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs on the premises.
- Bringing food into the facility (sports drinks and water are allowed).
- Physical or verbal altercations (results in termination for all parties involved).
- Taking photos or videos of other members or using cameras, including cell phones.
- Sharing membership credentials (ID cards) with others.
- Possession of weapons of any type.
- Playing music or phone calls aloud without headphones or earbuds.
- Entering restricted areas labeled as “Staff Only.”
Access Guidelines
- 24-hour access is limited to the Fitness Center area only.
- During non-staffed hours, the following areas will be unavailable:
- Dance studio
- Athletic training room
- Locker rooms
- Each member must swipe their ID card for entry. Sharing or using another member’s ID card will result in immediate termination of privileges.
- Members must submit a signed liability waiver when enrolling in 24-hour access. (Liability forms can be found online or at the Fitness Center front desk)
Safety and Security
- The Fitness Center is monitored by a 24-hour video surveillance system. However, no staff will be present during non-staffed hours. Members use the facility at their own risk.
- Emergency equipment, including a first aid kit, panic button (next to locker room entrance) and AED, is available on-site. In an emergency, call 911 immediately.
- Access may be restricted during inclement weather or power outages, with notifications provided through Indiana Tech’s communication channels.
- Non-Emergency Issues: Report broken equipment or other facility concerns during regular hours via email to the Director of Student Engagement. Email: Jmharvey@indianatech.edu
- Emergency Preparedness: Familiarize yourself with fire alarm protocols, severe weather procedures, and evacuation routes.
ID Card Usage
- Lost or damaged access cards must be replaced at the security desk. (fees may apply)
- Entry logs and video recordings will be periodically reviewed for compliance and security.
Equipment Usage
- Only use familiar equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition before use.
- Keep the fitness area tidy by returning equipment and weights to their designated areas and wiping down equipment after use.
- During non-staffed hours, limit free-weight movements to safe loads to prevent accidents.
- No outside equipment will be allowed in the facility during 24-hour access.
Facility Closures
Indiana Tech reserves the right to close the Fitness Center or restrict 24-hour access for events, maintenance, or emergencies. Notifications will be shared through Indiana Tech’s communication channels. (Instagram – WarriorsConnect – Post on entrance door)
Membership Policies
- Age Requirements
- 24-hour access is restricted to individuals 18 years or older.
- Guest Policy
- Guests are permitted only during regular staffed hours. Members with 24-hour access are not allowed to bring guests during non-staffed hours.
- Liability
- Assumption of Risk: Members acknowledge that they use the Fitness Center at their own risk. Indiana Tech is not liable for injuries, accidents, or unattended personal property during non-staffed hours.
- Liability Waiver: All members must sign a waiver acknowledging their responsibility to know their physical limitations and prioritize their own safety.
- Membership Suspension/Termination Appeals
- Members may appeal a suspension or termination of their membership by submitting a request to the Fitness Center management team. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

By using Indiana Tech’s 24/7 Fitness Center, members agree to abide by these policies and understand the consequences of any violations. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all members!
