Welcome Home, Warriors!

Welcome Week is our opportunity to celebrate the start of a new academic year and your opportunity to meet new friends or get reacquainted with old ones. The Office of Student Engagement has so many different events planned that you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy. Some of the events listed below required advanced signup due to limited capacity. You can find more details and secure your spot on the Commons 803 website or the CORQ app!

The schedule below is for the 2021-22 academic year. Check back this summer for our 2022-23 Welcome Week schedule of events.

Saturday, Aug. 21

Open Rec Center

Rec Center @ 4-7 p.m.

Rec Center Deep Freeze

Rec Center @ 7-9 p.m.

Join us down in the Rec Center for some cold treats, give aways and games!

Outdoor Movie

Amphitheater @ 9 p.m.

Get there early to get your limited edition Indiana Tech lawn blanket! PLUS popcorn and drinks.

Sunday, Aug. 22

Welcome Party & Involvement Fair

Scully Square @ 5-8 p.m.

Come together with the entire Warrior family for FREE food, games, and activities to kickoff the school year!

Open Rec Center

Rec Center @ 6-10 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 23

Commuter Coffee Cart

Cunn 8:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m.
Zollner 9:45 a.m.-10:15 a.m.

Commuters can grab coffee, donuts, and other goodies on your way to class!

Speed Friending

Andorfer Commons patio/Scully Square @ 6 p.m.

Bring a friend or come to meet new ones! *Advanced sign-up on Commons 803 is highly recommended*


Rec Center @ 7 p.m.

After Speed Friending, come play games, kickback, and hang out in the rec center!

Tuesday, Aug. 24

Intramurals kickoff: Cornhole Tournament

Scully Square @ 6:30 p.m.

Join OSE and Sigma Phi Epsilon for a Cornhole Tournament! Both players on the winning team will walk away with a prize.

Wednesday, Aug. 25

Interfaith Services Fair

Andorfer Commons @ 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Local faith organizations will be present to answer questions, share their locations and service times, and welcome you.


Dining Hall @ 6 p.m.

Grab dinner and win prizes to help get you ready for the year ahead.

Thursday, Aug. 26

Office of Student Success & Kona Ice

outside Fieldhouse in roundabout @ 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Join the Office of Student Success for Kona Ice and polaroid photos to kick off the semester!

Trivia Night!

Rec Center @ 7 p.m.

Join us down in the Rec Center for a Disney Trivia Night. If you can find it on Disney+, it is fair game for this trivia night!

Friday, Aug. 27

Career Fair

Andorfer Commons Dining Hall @ 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Looking for a job? Come here to learn about work study, student employee, and part time jobs both on and off campus.

Hammock hangout

Firepit @ 6-8 p.m.

Meet at the firepit for our first hammock hangout of the year, including laid back  games, live music, and snacks.

Capture the Flag

Start at Snyder Academic Center lawn @ 8-10 p.m.

Put your game face on and get ready for an epic game of capture the flag across campus.

Saturday, Aug. 28

Explore the Fort

Around Fort Wayne @ 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Choose from a variety of different activities to help you explore Fort Wayne and try something new! Activities include kayaking, the zoo, laser tag, Tin Caps game, and more! See Commons 803 for details. *Advanced sign-up on Commons 803 is required*

Student Org Leader Retreat

Multi-Flex Theater, Snyder Academic Center @ 3-7 p.m.

All student organization leaders are invited to attend a leadership retreat to kickoff the year. *Advanced sign-up on Commons 803 is required*

Monday, Aug. 30

Hypnotist Chris Jones

Multi-Flex Theater, Snyder Academic Center @ 7 p.m.

A student favorite, Chris Jones returns to Indiana Tech to once again make a group of students the star of the show and provide entertainment that campus will be talking about all week. Get your phone ready – you won’t want to miss this!

Thursday, Sept. 2

Karibu Cookout

Scully Square @ 5-7:30 p.m.

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion invites Tech scholars to celebrate black culture during our annual Karibu Cookout!
