Facilities

Andorfer Commons is an integral meeting place for campus life. From the 210-seat movie theater to the decked out Recreation Center, there are many places to meet with friends and faculty or staff. It hosts many student organization meetings and events, and serves as a home for many of the departments which strive to help students be more successful at everything they do.

Hours of operation

Andorfer Commons is open from 7:00 a.m.-midnight, Monday through Sunday. The Recreation Center hours vary depending on the semester and staffing, but generally hours are 12:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m.-11 p.m., Saturday, and 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Plenty of space for students

Listed below are spaces that students, faculty and staff can take advantage of while in Andorfer Commons.

Dining hall

The Dining Hall is the primary place on campus where students, staff, and faculty eat lunch. Students are often found here outside meal times, working in groups or taking advantage of the Wi-Fi.

Tech Treasures

Located on the first floor of Andorfer, Tech Treasures is the spirit shop on campus where people can get their Tech gear.

Joyce Schlatter Board Room

A small meeting room located off the Dining Hall, the Joyce Schlatter Board Room hosts many round table meetings and lunches for students, faculty, and staff.

Recreation Center

This area in the lower level of Andorfer Commons is a great place for students to spend time between classes. Three billiards tables, foosball, table tennis, video game consoles, board games, and a six-lane bowling alley offer students a place to get out of their rooms or for commuters to take a break from their day without leaving campus. Many events are also held in the Recreation Center, such as video game tournaments, poetry readings, and intramurals.

Bowling alley

The bowling alley in the basement of Andorfer has six lanes that students can use to release their inner bowler or just to relax and have fun. During the course of the year, several tournaments and leagues will be held in this location. The Office of Student Engagement will also offers free bowling to Indiana Tech students! Take advantage of these great opportunities.

Student organizations hub

Interested in learning about student organizations or hosting an organization meeting? The student organizations hub is the place to do it.

Alcoves

Students put their feet up, snag a comfy chair, and take a break in between the things that pull at students’ time here. Also, they use the alcoves in the second floor of Andorfer for small group meetings.

Seitz Conference Center

The conference center is the home for many meetings, recognition events, and even the annual casino night. It has three rooms of various sizes that can be separated or connected depending on how large the event is.

Office of Student Success

This invaluable office houses resources like the Tutoring Center for traditional undergraduate students and services for students with disabilities.

Career Center

The Career Center assists all students with valuable skills such as resume writing and interview preparation, and it is the first stop for students seeking on campus employment opportunities.

Wegener Chapel

The Wegener Chapel is the space on campus for faith-based affiliated groups to meet, and it also serves as a space for personal meditation when not in use.

Executive classroom, B242

Several upper level classes are held in this upgraded classroom space.

Student Affairs Suite

The Student Affairs Suite is the point of contact for student programming and events, student organizations, intramurals, housing, and much more.

Magee-O’Connor Theater

This movie theater is a space utilized by many departments on campus, and students often find themselves there whether they are attending a freshman registration event, a First Friday Film, or a University Forum Speaker series event.
